The six lines you see represent the six strings on the guitar. The top line you see represents the top string or the high E also thinnest and smallest gauge string. The numbers that are placed on the lines represent the frets of each string where your fingers go. The 6 lines below represent a E Major chord. The second chord is A Major. A zero means to play an open string and an X means the string is not played. Its also beneficial and important as a guitar player to at least also be able to read notes.
